Thanks to the hospitality of UIR, at their headquarters on Via Rasella in Rome, a meeting took place on October 30th between members and representatives of RFI. During the meeting, RFI presented to the managers and the 25 associated interports the EasyRailFreight platform, developed by RFI to promote intermodal transport.
RFI explained how the platform works, with a particular focus on the “Service Showcase” module—a communication tool that represents the integrated offering of rail services combined with door-to-door solutions—and on the “AT.L.A.S.” module (Logistics Atlas of Assets and Services). The latter was designed to provide a comprehensive geolocated overview of the structural characteristics of railway lines, facilities, interports, ports, and logistics hubs, which constitute a huge asset to be enhanced through location intelligence. This aims to meet freight mobility needs by implementing tailored intermodal logistics services, while also contributing to sustainable development and increasing the attractiveness of the service offering.
