Green Logistics Expo, Padua Exhibition Centre

Green Logistics Expo, fiera di Padova

The third edition of GREEN LOGISTICS EXPO, the International Exhibition of Sustainable Logistics, will take place at the Padua Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 9th, Thursday 10th, and Friday 11th October 2024. This event has become indispensable for a vital sector of the economy and society, whose strategic role has been widely recognized in recent years.

This third edition takes place in a very complex moment, marked by intertwined opposing elements. The current economic situation is difficult to interpret: growth remains positive but has slowed down, and the “post-Covid rebound” seems to have run its course, revealing concerning clouds on the horizon. This scenario is further complicated by strong geopolitical disturbances centered around the Mediterranean, a global logistics hub.

At the same time, Italian logistics is undergoing a profound transformation and modernization process that could finally enable it to make the long-awaited leap in quality, becoming internationally competitive and playing a more active role in the country’s development.

This transformation runs on three interconnected tracks:

  1. Infrastructure investments, enabled by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), aimed at modernizing and removing long-standing bottlenecks;
  2. The green transition, which is now unavoidable, where logistics can contribute to the whole system through rationalization actions and clean energy production;
  3. Accelerated automation and digitalization of logistics structures and models.

Supporting logistics through this maturation process and connecting it directly with businesses is the mission of Green Logistics Expo—a goal embraced by all its participants.

There is great anticipation for this third edition, where scenarios, investments, new products and models, markets, and infrastructures will converge with the needs of businesses, territories, stakeholders, and public administrators.

The event will follow the successful formats of previous editions, hosting the best Italian and international experiences across various exhibition sectors.

Intermodal logistics will be front and center, featuring port and interport activities, maritime, rail, and road transport at a time of great transformation and strong growth of combined transport. Alongside nodes and infrastructure networks, major logistics operators and terminal equipment manufacturers will be present—from loading units and lifting equipment to automation systems, robotics, and AI applications.

Equally important will be the theme of “Large Warehouses”. These facilities are crucial for individual companies to manage incoming and outgoing goods, strategic for the entire logistics system, and attractive to investors. Today, warehouses are also expected to produce clean energy and serve as key nodes in the so-called “energy internet,” an essential component for decarbonization.

The 2024 edition of Green Logistics Expo aims to showcase the full variety and complexity of the “warehouse world,” making it more earth-friendly by reducing land consumption and cleaner through the use and production of clean energy. The most advanced solutions for handling and storage, cataloging, weighing, packaging, picking, and effective predictive logistics will be on display. Intelligent systems and remote controls are transforming warehouse performance and operations, making traditional Warehouse Management Systems outdated.

Special attention will also be given to urban logistics and various forms of delivery, the aspect that most directly connects logistics with the end consumer.

Urbanization, especially in Italy, is a consolidated trend, and according to the World Bank, 75% of infrastructure will need to be redesigned or rebuilt in the next thirty years. This means cities must rethink their designs, undergoing significant redevelopment efforts. Urban logistics plays a vital role in this process.

Express couriers, electric and low-energy vehicles, charging networks, access control and monitoring systems, multi-utility services, and urban distribution models will engage a diverse audience including public administrators, city managers, urban planners and architects, retail, and large-scale distribution.

As usual, the event will feature a rich program of conferences, seminars, demonstrations, and round tables. Green Logistics Expo works closely with leading sector associations, exhibitors, public decision-makers, researchers, analysts, and top study centers. Their expertise and authority will ensure a high-value program addressing both strategic scenarios and detailed technical and organizational insights.

The event expects a broad audience including logistics managers from manufacturing and large-scale retail, entrepreneurs and managers from small, medium, and large companies, public officials, institutional representatives, and experts in logistics, transport, and urban planning. This will be supported by a strong communication plan involving both traditional media and digital channels.

“With this third edition of Green Logistics Expo,” declares Nicola Rossi, President of Padova Hall, “we want to welcome the entire logistics community to a trade fair venue itself undergoing profound innovation and modernization. The event, already promising to be of high quality, also thanks to support from Interporto Padova, responds to a clear need of the ‘national system.’ Our commitment, beyond hosting the key players, is to attract owners and managers from Italian manufacturing to find the best solutions for their internal logistics and exports. Beyond them, the event will also engage public administrators working on creative and planning efforts for urban logistics and e-commerce that are less polluting and congested, improving citizens’ quality of life. Green Logistics Expo is an event rich in content and an example of a path that the Padua Exhibition Centre intends to continue.”

Italian logistics looks forward to seeing you at Padua Exhibition Centre from 9 to 11 October 2024 with Green Logistics Expo—a lively trade fair with a global vision for connected, modern, and sustainable logistics.
