Western Ligurian Sea Port System: tender published for rail shunting services in the ports of Savona and Vado Ligure

Interested companies have until 12:00 noon on Thursday, 2 April 2026 to submit their bids for the tender concerning the concession for rail freight shunting services in the ports of Savona and Vado Ligure, within the Western Ligurian Sea Port System.

All tender documentation – including the call for tenders, tender specifications, technical requirements and draft contract – is available on the Authority’s institutional website and on the dedicated electronic procurement platform.

Expected developments in rail freight traffic at the two ports are closely linked to the ongoing programme of infrastructure and technological upgrades on the port railway system and its connections with the national rail network. These investments are expected to significantly increase logistics capacity and the availability of intermodal services.

In this context, logistics operators are increasingly orienting their strategies towards greater use of rail freight transport, supporting the gradual modal shift from road to rail.
