Thanks to the hospitality of Unione Interporti Riuniti (UIR), a meeting was held on 30 October at their headquarters in Via Rasella, Rome, between UIR members and representatives of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). During the event, RFI presented the EasyRailFreight platform—developed to promote intermodal freight transport—to the leadership and representatives of the 25 interports associated with UIR.

RFI illustrated the platform’s features, with a particular focus on the “Service Showcase” module, a communication tool that highlights available rail transport services integrated into door-to-door logistics offerings. Also presented was “AT.L.A.S.” (Logistics Atlas of Assets and Services), designed to provide a complete geo-referenced view of the structural characteristics of railway lines, terminals, interports, ports, and logistics hubs.

This infrastructure represents a significant national asset that can be enhanced through location intelligence, supporting the development of tailor-made intermodal logistics services. The tool also contributes to sustainable development and strengthens the attractiveness of intermodal service offerings.
